Frequently Asked Questions:

1. I'm new to Myofascial Release. Where should I start?
We always recommend starting with the MFR 60 session. This is the 60 minute session that includes 15 minutes of complimentary Vibroacoustics.

2. I have a lot going on. Should I do a longer session?
That's up to you. You will get relief even in a 60 minute session. You can schedule a 90 minute session with 30 minutes of complimentary Vibroacoustics if you feel you may need more time. You will receive relief from any length of time, whether it is 60 or 90 minutes.

3. What should I expect from my first session?
Clients will see an increase in tissue motion with the first session. With that being said, pain begins to subside after the fascia begins to regain some mobility. It is usually the fascia that is placing pressure on body structures or organs that is resulting in pain. Some clients will be sore after their first session. The clinician can usually tell which client may be sore, based on the involvement of the restriction. This doesn't always happen, but it is a possibility. It is similar to a workout soreness that might occur after you start a new exercise routine. It doesn't indicate backwards progress, it's the result of chemical bonds releasing and the body going through a process similar to a "detoxification". You can also have "unusual symptoms" for up to 3 days afterward. This is comparable to a nervous system reboot. When the fascia releases, it can take pressure off the nerves, and much like a computer reboots to reorganize itself, so does the nervous system. These "unusual" symptoms are called "somatic" responses and can range from tingling, to feeling "light" to buzzing. These are somatic responses and they are normal. The clinicians are familiar with somatic responses and you may experience them during your session as well. They are normal responses.

4.How often do I need to come?
This is an individual process. We let clients determine their frequency. We are not chiropractors or physical therapists. You do not have to come more often to get the "most benefit". You will receive benefit from every visit and healing is not linear (a checklist).

For a typical neck pain client, 3-6 visits is the usual. You will learn 1-2 simple techniques on the first visit to use that will address the fascia and reduce your discomfort. We do not assign more than 1 or 2 techniques. These techniques will not take any longer than 1 or 2 minutes. You will be able to fit them into your daily routine without stressing or making more time for them.

Our motto is "IF IT DOESN'T FIT ON A POST IT NOTE, IT'S TOO MUCH". YES, IT'S THAT SIMPLE. Some of our clients chose to come more often, every other week or on a monthly basis. That is their choice because they feel the difference it makes in their bodies and their lives. If you have more significant symptoms, you may come a bit more frequently at first and then start spreading the visits out.

The body does require a bit of time between visits to "reboot" (remember what we said earlier), so we don't recommend more than once a week. The only exception to this would be if you were using Vibroacoustics only. Some clients are going through life changes and use Vibroacoustics only for meditative purposes to assist when going through major life changes or a decision making process. Vibroacoustics can be used daily.

5.Can I get a discount if I request the Vibroacoustics be removed from my session?
No. We took a lot into consideration when setting out prices. Previously we had so many price levels with convenience fees, Medicare Advantage, Veterans, Cash Discounts, and on and on. We restructured to one single price for everyone with free 15 min Vibroacoustics in 60 min sessions and 30 min free Vibroacoustics in a 90 min session. We removed all credit card convenience fees and the price ended up being less for some and slightly more for others, but everyone ended up benefiting with free Vibroacoustics. You can opt out of Vibroacoustics, but it will not change the price of the session.
